Biography (continuation)

Janneke explains: 'Being in touch with the subject is my starting-point. My goal is not to make ugly things pretty, but instead I try to represent reality as faithfully as possible. Secretly hoping it might serve as a source of inspiration to the viewer. The existing light, the shape and the simplicity are the most important of the whole. As counterpart to the hectic and noisy places in the world I want to share silence with the viewer. I would like, when the people see my work, that they imagine theyre in these palces of peace and quitness. My work doesn't need explanations, it's intuitive'.

Recently janneke has exhibited her work in galeries and musea in India, Brasil, New York, Paris and Amsterdam.
