Wall House

The Wall House in Groningen, designed by John Hedjuk, is not so much a house as a sculpture. The 18.5 metres wide and 14 metres high, grey, thin wall, increases the sense of transition between past and present. The past is expressed in the long hallway and in the studio at the back of the house. The present offers space for living, at different levels. Every time you want to enter one of the many different rooms, you have to pass through the wall first. This way past and present keep mixing.

The pictures have been published in a professional magazine on architecture and in the book 'Wall House'.
